Database

We can perform database analysis and normalization along with migration strategies, data upsizing and backup and restore. We can turn other formats into a cohesive database structure to include sources such as Microsoft Excel, cvs, text and upsize Access into other database formats. The database is where we typically start our design process. We have written programs in familiar formats to our clients, such as Microsoft Access, to allow data capture for an eventual migration into a new and more robust system.

Consultation

No matter what stage of planning our clients are in, Code Level: Expert can help achieve goals.

Our process starts with a full business analysis to be able to identify how our client's needs are translated into software. Most common problems arise when a business uses multiple software packages to move the same data around.

Consolidating the data has many benefits:

  • prevents duplicates
  • prevents re-entry errors
  • decreases maintenance time
  • decreases complexity
  • decreases training time
  • increases reporting capabilities
  • increases business metrics

All these benefits taken together result in an overall increase in productivity.

There are other reasons for the need of custom software:

  • New business
  • Expanding operations
  • Managing multiple locations
  • Inadequate current solutions

With new software, managers spend more time managing and less time creating reports. Workers spend more time working and less time reporting on their work. Software can gather the metrics needed to show the health of the business.

Phase 2 is generating the scope of work to achieve the results outlined in the analysis. Software creation is a multi-step process and can have many paths to get to the end goal. Code Level: Expert will offer all the different paths, along with the benefits and drawbacks at each step.

Phase 3 is the cost estimate. Most businesses would like to know how to forecast their budget before work commences. Other software companies would just like to skip all these steps and just enter into an hourly billable rate. This is unfair to businesses, as they are usually unaware of the true hours associated with custom software design and coding. By outlining the complete scope of work and expected end results, Code Level: Expert can offer a firm price. Any changes to the plan are documented and approved in advance so there are no unexpected final costs. Imagine the disaster of  entering into an open ended contract, going over budget and still not having a viable product. Yet, this is the exact position some of our clients have been in the past, and the reason their current software is inadequate.

Allow us at Code Level: Expert, LLC to offer the possibilities of what current technology can do for your business.
